I attended the inaugural SIx3D conference that the Smithsonian Museum held on November 13th and 14th, 2013, to highlight it’s innovative program of bringing 3D scanning and printing to the museum. They also announced during the event, the commitment to digitize as many 3D objects in their collection as they are able, and 10% of their 2D collection over the coming years. I also organized an AvaCon.org Avatar Meetup during the conference.
Below is a storify I put together of some of the highlights of the event and meetup, in images, video and tweets.
